Holiday In Coorg

I am Rowena D'souza.  I live in Coorg with my husband and son.

Here's how my business venture began.

A city girl living a city life with no plans of moving to a small town and living the life of a planter's wife . But life had other plans ... I got married and moved to Coorg !! Everyone who knew me thought I was crazy to give up a fantastic job and move to the back of beyond .I did move and  decided to occupy my time  in a way that not only got me some spending money but  also get to know the local Coorg families . I am no longer a stranger in a strange land.

I have chosen is to make a career of taking homestay bookings . The venture started with a few friends and relatives needing last minute homestay bookings especailly when a long weekend loomed and nobody wanted to spend all that time in the hustle and bustle of Bangalore .

Coorg currently has about 200 registered homestays and more than double that number that are unregistered, taking the total to approximately 800-900 homestays. To select the perfect homestay that fits your ideal and your pocket can be a daunting one. I am here to simplify things a little bit for you.

 The first step I take is to call up a homestay that I think may be a good homestay , next I fix up a convenient date and time and visit the place first hand. This is to eliminate any doubt about the place , location  , hygiene etc and to make sure I have all the right information about the place. Unless I am convinced that the homestay is a good , safe & a clean one and most importantly the hosts are well turned out I will not reccommend the same. Most important for me is that you want to return to Coorg after spending a restful and relaxing weekend soaking up the natural beauty & breathing in fresh air.
